Stranger Things Season 3: 8 Biggest Questions After The Trailer
2. What Is That New Monster?
We've had the Demogorgon. We've had the Mind Flayer. Heck, we've even had the Demo-dogs. But now? Now we have the, well, what is that exactly?
The Season 3 trailer built up the tension incredibly well throughout before closing out with a scene of a terrifying new monster. With its countless limbs and horrifying face, it roared its way into our worst nightmares, serving its purpose to perfection as the trailer's grand finale - but that still doesn't explain what it is.
Judging by the overall slimy texture of the creature, it's definitely from the Upside Down (though was that ever really question?). Furthermore, if the brief snippets in the lead-up to its appearance are anything to go by, it appeared to be hatching out of some sort of shell. Was it merely breaking its way out of a slimy egg, or was this entity really a person at one point in time? Could this be another (badly deformed) Demogorgon, or is it something (or someone) else entirely?
Thessalhydra, anyone?
