The loving mother of Alex and adoptive mother of Kara, Eliza Danvers is undoubtedly one of the most underappreciated characters on the show.

Played exquisitely by former Supergirl, Helen Slater, she has been through her fair share of heartache over the years, losing her husband Jeremiah to the very agency that he worked for. In the end, however, it's clear that she'd do it all again to protect her girls.

The personification of a wonderful mother, she has been present for some of the show's most moving moments, including Alex's pivotal coming out scene and her recent tear-jerking plea to resurrect Kara from near-death.

A hidden gem that can always be relied upon to get us right in the feels, it goes without saying that the show could use more of her.
