One of the most prevalent moments of last weeks Pilot was the reveal (to us viewers) that Supergirls aunt, Astra, has her sights on the Girl of Steel. Not only that, but Astra just so happens to be the identical twin of Karas mother, Alura, and so viewers were being braced for a huge reveal somewhere down the line when Kara sees her deceased mothers face only to realise that it was her evil aunt who was out to cause her harm and do all sorts of no-good deeds. So with that said, it was a massive surprise to see Supergirl giving fans that reveal already. Yeah, fine, it was impactful, but did it really need to be this soon? Many fans bitched and moaned about how Arrow killed off Oliver Queen during its Season 3 mid-season finale only to see him alive and kicking by the very next episode, and similarly the early reveal of Astra was one that many Supergirl fans likely questioned.
