Fight or Flight? That's the question facing Kara Zor-El this week, and one we get a pretty definitive answer to (I mean, if you want to get technical, she does both). Faced with a new villain, the shadow of her cousin looming ever larger, and a general public and media who aren't taking all that kindly to Supergirl trying to save the day, Kara has to take some pretty big steps in her superherodom here, and on the whole it works really well. We have the follow-up from last week's interview with Cat Grant, some interesting new faces, character development for the supporting cast, and plenty of the action, humour, and heart that this show has worn on its sleeve since the beginning. The centre of the show remains, of course, to be Melissa Benoist's Kara. Three weeks in and it already seems by-the-by that she's going to be great in the episode, and that's once again the case here. She makes everything else work, and even in the moments that fall flat she's still enjoyable to watch. It once again passed by at a speed to make the Flash jealous, with a couple of stumbles along the way, but on the whole it was another solid episode of what's already becoming a very good addition to the roster of superhero shows on TV, and this is what was good (and what wasn't so much) from the latest instalment.
