Supergirl Season 2: 7 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Adventures Of Supergirl'
The Man of Steel shines in the Supergirl season premiere.
After a debut season that was a mixed bag, Supergirl is now back, and with a new home to boot.
Whilst the show may have now moved from CBS to The CW, very little has changed stylistically or aesthetically for the series. There may be a slightly snazzier home for the DEO, but the overall feel of the show is still very much in tune with what we’re familiar with by now: energetic, vibrant, and full of warmth and sincerity.
Still, there is one major change in this new season – the addition of comic books’ greatest hero, Superman!
With the Big Blue Boy Scout debuting here, The Adventures of Supergirl brought the Melissa Benoist-starring series back with a bang. It may just be one episode in, but Season 2 of this show feels so fresh, engaging and, most importantly, fun as The CW looks to make this show as must-see as the likes of Arrow and The Flash.
In terms of major happenings, this season premiere’s biggest non-Super moment was the introduction of John Corben, the man destined to become the villainous, Kryptonite-fuelled Metallo, but in truth this introduction rightly took a backseat to the show’s heroic cousins.
The Adventures of Supergirl was a fantastic way to bring Supergirl back, so let’s take a look what the season premiere got right - and what didn't work so well.
