So far, this season of Supergirl has given us a close up look at the war that is raging between humans and aliens. New Big Bad, Agent Liberty, and his anti-alien brigade has fed off humanity's fear of the unknown and, as a result, has been responsible for hatred and bigotry being aimed towards those who weren't originally from this planet. Moreover, with some extra-clever subtext, the series has managed to use the main storyline to make a statement about real world issues - and this week's instalment was no different.

'Ahimsa' highlighted how the show's characters were struggling to maintain a peaceful approach, even in the face of such violence and hatred. With each of them tested beyond their physical (and emotional) limitations, the episode provided a lot of opportunity for character growth. Furthermore, it paved the way for the introduction of another beloved DC character that is going to have a lot to say about the events that have taken place.

All in all, 'Ahimsa' was another solid outing that furthered the storyline while cleverly writing around Melissa Benoist's absence. Contains spoilers.
