Superman & Lois To Start Filming In March 2020
Once Crisis on Infinite Earths is out of the way, it's all eyes on Clark and Lois.
With Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel and Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane soon to back on our screens as part of The CW’s huge Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, now comes an update on the proposed spin-off show for this duo.
Courtesy of Discussing Film, the current plan is for Superman & Lois to start filming its pilot episode in March of next year. Like so many of The CW’s content, production will take place in Vancouver, Canada.
In addition to being executive produced by the familiar trio of Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns, Superman & Lois has also brought in Todd Helbing. A former showrunner on The Flash, Helbing is the person tasked with penning Superman & Lois for the network.
Since debuting as Superman in Supergirl’s second season, Tyler Hoechlin has wowed as Kal-El. Delivering a Supes who is a true symbol of hope, the Teen Wolf star’s Big Blue Boy Scout has proved to be the perfect tonic for certain recent gloomy Superman incarnations. As for Elizabeth Tulloch, her Lois Lane first appeared in last year’s Elseworlds crossover event.
From what we know so far about Superman & Lois, the series will centre on the titular couple as they have to balance the joys of parenthood with the obvious daily troubles that populate this shared universe of superheroes and villains.
As mentioned, before Superman & Lois, the five-episode, five-show Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover will be upon us next month – and that monumental event promises to change the very landscape of all things DC TV.
