Sheldon Cooper has, on numerous times, shown his childish response to changes; he often needs the help of his mother to force him to accept changes. If Amy broke up with him he would be forced to face a monumental shift in his life; we would be treated to the long and hard recovery process for Sheldon. This would again alter the dynamic of the show, and such a change would keep viewers engaged. Sheldons childish moments, such as refusing to participate in the Christmas themed dungeons and dragons, or his inability to pretend to be interested in his friends lives are incredibly funny. Sheldons compulsion to do what he wants on his terms would be back; again he would be fighting for his right to sit in his seat, and he would be able to be rude to his friends without Amys disappointment to keep him in check. Also, wouldnt it be right for someone else to give him a hot beverage and sing Soft Kitty to him?
