Say what you will about what this show is all about, but in the end you must agree that the Sheldon Cooper character has thus far become the anchor of the program. As the seasons progress, we continue to learn more about Sheldon. We see him grow and adapt and respond to his circumstances and surroundings with overall comedic results. Throughout the 5 seasons, hes learned to understand sarcasm, tolerate those less intelligent than he is, and even develop feelings for a human other than himself, his mother, or his Me Maw. Actor Jim Parsons is a 2 time Emmy winner (and currently nominated for a third) for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper, and rightfully so: the character is the most complex currently on the big 4 networks, and Parsons has successfully brought him to life in such a way that Sheldon has become the heart and soul of the show. But the writers can do more with him, and I think they will starting this season, hopefully teasing an honest run for the Nobel Prize. I also think we will start to get a bit more of an explanation as to what condition Sheldon may actually have, such as Aspergers Syndrome.
