10. Stillwell Gets Lasered

The fact that this stands at the number ten spot is an absolute testament to the grotesque imagery that is about to be coming your way.

Seeing laser eyes in a superhero property is not something new. It's been a staple of comic-books since their inception, and viewers have witnessed it on screen multiple times. Still, they've never seen what the actual effects of a laser to the face would do until Homelander stepped in.

Stillwell's death came after Billy Butcher took her hostage and attempted to use her as leverage against Homelander. However, the situation drastically altered after the toxic and psychopathic hero had one final heartfelt moment with his breast-feeding boss and then fired his laser eyes directly into her face, melting it down and killing her instantly.

As if laser eyes weren't enough on their own, the scene is shot expertly, as they deliberately sought to keep everything as dark as they could so that when the bright piercing red of Homelander's lasers appeared, they would look drastically contrasting.

Madelyn may have been a manipulative, problematic person, but this punishment was a little too harsh.
