By Tom Baker /

2. Wyatt Cenac

John Oliver has gone off to pastures new, but might be too busy with his new job. The news that The Daily Show is looking for a new host must've gotten the attention of some of the other correspondents who started their career there, however, who perhaps wouldn't have to contend with abandoning their own award-winning satirical news show. Somebody like Wyatt Cenac? Besides Oliver, he's probably the best-known of the recent Daily Show performers who left in search of new challenges. His drawling, poker-faced delivery whilst tackling important, often forgotten news stories made him one of the best correspondents the show's had. He has an idea of how both the behind-the-scenes and hosting sides work €“ he also previously worked on the writing staff of King Of The Hill €“ and starred in some of The Daily Show's all-time best segments. He left in 2012 and has been somewhat quiet since €“ perhaps it's time Cenac came home.
