An unidentified event then triggers an earthquake-like catastrophe in New York, rocking the streets of Harlem and also sending the Defenders to their knees, while catapulting Luke Cage across the room.
As for the root cause, it seems pretty unclear (maybe Elektra's revival?), as well as what the Defenders are actually up to when the event takes place.
10. Sigourney Weaver As Alexandra
If you've not been closely following the production of The Defenders, it'd be easy to miss that Sigourney freaking Weaver has joined the cast as the villainous Alexandra.
Now, that mere name has no obvious rooting in existing Marvel lore, so many fans suspect that she is either playing a female version of crime kingpin Alexander Bont, or the devilish Mephisto, the latter having been heavily rumoured for quite some time (despite the writers insisting she's an original creation).
Either way, Weaver's a terrific actress and fantastic addition to the MCU, so she'll surely knock it out of the park regardless. From her delicious delivery of the line, "The more connections you have, the easier it will be to break you", that seems clear enough.
