Blunt, boring and annoyingly monosyllabic, Cicada is a classic case of how having all the right ingredients doesn't always prevent a poor execution.

He looked the part, and there is no doubt that his voice was goosebump-inducing, but he quickly outstayed his welcome and found himself locked into the same redundant cycle week after week: Show up, grunt a few words, attempt to kill Team Flash, flee.

While there were glimpses of decency from his human alter-ego, Orlin Dwyer, and his motivations were relatively strong, he was still, for the most part, presented like a gimmicky character that just wasn't all that interesting.
