Season 2 has introduced us to Patty Spivot, a new detective in the CCPD and a love interest for Barry. Reaction to her has been pretty mixed, although I would say she's been a good addition on the show. She's funny, awkward, but also more than capable of holding her own; indeed, sometimes is too ready and willing to fire. Her and Barry have great chemistry together, despite the fact he's continuously been keeping a rather major secret from her. Now, after his not opening up to her has put her life in danger, she's getting the hell out of dodge, and taking up a place at university. This comes as something of a surprise. The show has dedicated quite a lot of screentime to developing their relationship, and now, only 10 episodes in, they're going to end it and get rid of the character? That just seems like a massive waste, and one I hope isn't true, for that reason and because I really like Patty and think she could become a great part of the show in time.
