With Running to Stand Still, The Flash brought a close to the first half of its second season. Bringing Captain Cold, Weather Wizard and The Trickster back into the fold, this episode found our Scarlet Speedster having to defend Central City from festive chaos. Yep, as well as being a mid-season finale, this latest outing for The Flash also served as a Christmas episode. Whilst Barry has his problems to deal with, Patty Spivott has her own struggles to deal with considering that Weather Wizard is the man who shot and killed her father. Then theres the Wests, with Iris finally caving in and revealing to her dad that he actually has a long-lost son by the name of Wally. Tying the episode together here, too, was the presence of uber-rogue Zoom. The rest of The Flashs familiar faces may be enjoying some festive cheer as Running to Stand Still came to a close, but Harry Wells has seemingly made a deal with the devil in one of many WTF moments from this last Flash episode of 2015.
16. Stalking Wells
Running to Stand Still opened with a moment that couldve been pulled directly from a horror film of yesteryear. As Earth-2s Harrison Wells runs for his life in the back corridors of S.T.A.R. Labs, we soon realise that the threat that stalks him is that of Zoom. The dark and twisted speedster grabs Wells around his throat and eerily wishes him a Merry Christmas. This was a creepy WTF moment that was one of the darkest openings that The Flash has delivered in its run to date. Adding even further to the dark tone was a fantastic score that felt as if itd been lifted from a 70s or 80s John Carpenter movie.
