Having locked up Eobard Thawne, the Scarlet Speedster, whilst not entirely happy that he couldnt kill his foe, was at peace with the notion of holding Thawne as a prisoner for now. Only then Cisco Ramon starts to suffer some major problems. As in Cisco seems to be phasing in and out of literal existence. Its soon explained that this is because, by holding Thawne captive, the timeline has been altered, and Ciscos demise is the repercussions of this. In a massive WTF moment, Barry has to begrudgingly release Reverse-Flash. Not only this, he has to help his lifelong rival generate enough force for him to travel back to the future. You know thats gotta sting for poor Barry Allen.
