The Flash Season 3 Review: 7 Ups And 5 Downs From 'Flashpoint'

3. Secret Identity

In fairness to The Flash, this is a complaint that could be thrown at many a superhero movie, TV show, and comic book over the years. Regardless, that still doesn’t make it okay here.

It’s plain stupid to see Barry genuinely having no idea whatsoever that Wally West is Kid Flash until Wally is left incapacitated by The Rival, leading to Barry peeling back the Kid Flash mask. This is a mask that has a good 2/3s of Wally’s face on show, not to mention Wally is somebody who has essentially became a brother of sorts to Barry in the standard timeline.

To think that Barry wouldn’t know that the man in the mask – the mask that is showing off the majority of his face! – in front of him isn’t somebody he is so close to, that’s just poor from the writing staff and makes Barry Allen look like a bit of an idiot.

Still, at least it’s better than somebody just putting on a pair of specs to conceal their identity.
