The Flash Season 4: 7 Problems It Needs To Fix

7. Make Iris More Than A Damsel In Distress

Although Iris has developed greatly from her Season 1 self, the show doesn't always seem too sure how to utilize the character. Last season attempted to focus on her passion for justice with storylines like the weapons trade subplot from earlier in season 3, but she still has yet to find that certain niche within the group that makes her worth keeping around.

Sure, she does pull Barry out of the pit when he's feeling down, but that's been her only real use since she's found out about Barry being the Flash. Her ability to shoot Savitar in the finale indicates a kind of killer instinct, which could provide some interesting character conflicts for future episodes.

Anytime a love interest character gets a lot of screentime, it's important to make those moments on-screen matter. Iris may be the West sibling without superpowers, but that doesn't mean she should be an afterthought. After all, if H.R can be a part of Team Flash, then so can she.
