The Flash has returned from yet another brief hiatus and now, with less than five episodes until its fifth season finale, it looks like things are finally starting to get moving. Ironically, the returning episode had to take us into one character's past (but everyone else's future) in order to make that happen.

'Godspeed' was very much focused on the aftermath of Nora West-Allen's confession. Unable to comprehend that his own daughter would ever dream of working alongside the man who murdered his mother, Barry had understandably lost all trust in her. However, after learning more about the trials she endured during her life, the team realised that she was a victim of circumstance - circumstances that viewers were allowed to get up-close and personal with.

'Godspeed' was, on a whole, a character-centric piece that filled in the gaps in Nora's story, while also finally introducing the character we had been waiting to see on the show for a very long time. With some intriguing twists, a strong narrative and some excellent directing from Danielle Panabaker, this proved to be one of the season's best outings yet.
