The Flash Season 6: 7 Theories On The Identity Of The New Big Bad

7. Killer Frost

This one's a long-shot, but it's worth considering all the same.

Caitlin Snow has been at the heart of The Flash since the very beginning, and yet her icy alter-ego (who was officially introduced back in Season 3) is consistently overlooked, under-written and, most annoying of all, conveniently weakened when the plot requires her to be. All of that, however, doesn't change the fact that, when she's treated right, Killer Frost is a force to be reckoned with.

We saw glimpses of that last season when the character became Team Flash's secret weapon in their fight against Cicada. Moreover, all of the heavy focus on Caitlin's family also gave Danielle Panabaker some well-deserved opportunities to shine. But does that mean she could be the villain next season? Well, there is a chance.

The character has walked the line between good and evil before, assisting Savitar in Season 3 and attempting to kill Amunet Black in Season 4, but she always ended up doing the right thing in the end. But the constant teases from her father, Icicle, last season certainly raised suspicion and, even though she never once considered returning to her evil ways, perhaps Caitlin's discovery that her mother may be an ice metahuman could drive her over the edge.

Killer Frost is a character that always feels like she's on the cusp of greatness, but that anytime she gets over that hurdle, the writers get scared and pull her back. With a new suit and new motivation in Season 6, now might finally be her time.
