The Flash Season 6 Premiere: 9 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Into The Void'

The Flash's fifth season was an outing that was full of both highs and lows - one that took the show into new territory while also retreading old ground. It was a season that had so much potential and yet constantly found itself missing the mark with repetitive outcomes and a bland villain preventing it from living up to that potential.

That said, it did set the stage for what could very well be the show's strongest season yet, as Nora's interference with the timeline not only released the Reverse-Flash but also resulted in the Crisis swapping 2024 for a 2019 date instead. And with that potentially game-changing premise, a new showrunner and a new Flash suit, all eyes were eagerly watching the Season 6 premiere to see if it could live up to its potential this time.

'Into The Void' was a welcome change-of-pace for the show as it took a moment to focus on its characters ahead of the story, while also successfully reintroducing the Crisis as a major threat. The result was a season premiere that felt both new and nostalgic - two things that The Flash does incredibly well.
