There was something almost emotional about seeing Gorilla Grodd realise the error of his ways. An evolved creature with intellect like no other, the former villain lacked empathy and understanding when it came to humanity as a thirst for vengeance was the sole driving force behind his behaviour up until this point.

It was fascinating watching him discuss how he ultimately realised that his way was wrong because he caused so much pain without ever bringing himself any peace and, together, those two things were enough to make him break the cycle of villainy.

The fact that he and The Flash teamed up to take down Solovar allowed his redemption to come full-circle, and it was a fitting way of bidding farewell to one of the show's greatest villains.

Until next time, Grodd.
