2. The Letters
Speaking of the letters, Luke, Moira and Erin (remember her? More on that later) deliberate over what to do with them. Wanting to incite a riot, the three characters agree that leaking the letters online is the best way forward, and they're right. When the letters become public, the people of Canada are up in arms. Mr and Mrs Waterford become public enemy number one, and even the Canadian Government turn their backs on them.
For the first time since the show began, the women are finally being heard. June's voice may not be amongst the women crying for help in these letters, but that's okay because she's got Nick, Luke and Moira looking out for her. This wasn't simply about securing freedom, it was about sending a message - a message that says they will be heard. This isn't just June's story, it's all the handmaids' story. And now, their tale is being heard too.
