The Mandalorian 2.7 Review - 6 Ups And 1 Down From Chapter 15
Mando and Boba Fett recruit an old enemy to help track down Moff Gideon in another great episode.
The Mandalorian Season 2 hit its stride about three or four episodes ago, and Chapter 15 proves the series isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
Building off the bombshell ending of Chapter 14 - where Moff Gideon's Dark Troopers snatched Grogu and Din entered an alliance with Boba Fett(!!) and Fennec Shand - Chapter 15 sees Mando and co. recruit Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr) to hack into an Imperial facility, and steal the coordinates to Gideon's light cruiser.
The episode also marks Rick Famuyiwa's return to The Mandalorian, and he delivers yet another solid outing that, while slow to start, helps turn a forgettable side character into one who ends up stealing the entire episode.
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
Ups...
6. Boba Fett. Just... Boba Fett
Do you ever just... swoon at a guy decked head to toe in beskar armour? No? Well, to each their own. (Boba is too cool not to stare wistfully at, though.)
Temuera Morrison continues to be an absolute treat as Star Wars' most famous bounty hunter - this time sporting a cleaned up version of the iconic green armour made famous in the Original Trilogy.
Fett takes a backseat for most of the proceedings in Chapter 15, but he does get one glorious moment where he deploys the Slave I's concussion mines against a band of pursuing TIEs. Now, the galaxy far, far away is obviously home to a great many iconic sound effects, but the noise those mines make when they detonate? Actual ear smut. Glorious.
Also, they better not kill him off in the finale. I have grown too attached to this character now and will feel all kinds of shame for speaking ill of them for so long if they do.
