The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Biggest Moments And Reveals In "The Passenger"
10. Ambush On Tatooine
"The Passenger" picks up almost immediately where "The Marshal" left off as Din Djarin and The Child head through Tatooine's deserts on that borrowed speeder bike. However, it's destroyed when the duo is ambushed by a group of bounty hunters who want to get their hands on The Child.
Despite being taken by surprise, the Mandalorian manages to fight them off, but is forced to make a deal with one of them when the alien holds a knife to The Child's throat. He exchanges his jetpack in exchange for his ward, but sends the thief flying into the atmosphere before it returns to him (there's then a very cool throwback to the way R2-D2 fell over in A New Hope).
Clearly, Moff Gideon still has contracts out for bounty hunters to retrieve The Child, and this scene emphasises that neither of them are safe despite the villain's apparent defeat in the season one finale.
Unfortunately, this lot don't appear to have any ties to Boba Fett, and that iconic Star Wars villain doesn't make an appearance. It is, however, being reported that a Disney+ miniseries will start shooting as soon as next week!
