Last week, it was confirmed that The Mandalorian will return to Disney+ for its second season on October 30th. A trailer has to be imminent at this point, though Lucasfilm is building the hype for that with a new Entertainment Weekly cover feature that pulls back the curtain on at least some of what fans can expect when they return to this corner of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

As well as shedding some light on who stepped behind the camera for the show's second year, there's new intel on characters like Greef Karga, Cara Dune, Moff Gideon, and, of course, Din Djarin and The Child. Executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni also weigh in, as do cast members Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Oh, and if that isn't quite enough, there's also some revealing new stills featuring an unexpected return to an iconic location, a highly anticipated team-up, and plenty of fresh shots of the adorable Child.

Season two clearly can't get here soon enough, and if these new details are anything to go by, this next batch of episodes are somehow going to be even bigger and better than the first (which is no easy feat).

10. Return To Tatooine

For the most part, The Mandalorian's first season took fans to new locations across the Galaxy, so a visit to Tatooine was definitely unexpected. That episode certainly didn't shy away from Easter Eggs, with even the Mos Eisley Cantina and the spot where Han shot first (fact) all coming into play. In the new stills released, it's confirmed that season two will return to the planet.

What could lead to Din Djarin and The Child returning to that desolate wasteland is hard to say, but it likely has something to do with that mysterious figure who found Fennec Shand's body at the end of "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger."

Rumour has it that was not Boba Fett, but Cobb Vanth (played by Timothy Olyphant), the new owner of that bounty hunter's armour. He became the self-appointed sheriff of the Tatooine-based settlement Freetown after getting his hands on Boba's Mandalorian armour from the Jawas, and could find himself caught in the crossfire when Din and Boba potentially cross paths in season two.
