The Office: Every Christmas Episode Ranked From Worst To Best

7. Christmas Wishes

By the time The Office rolled around to season 8, it found itself with declining viewers due to the departure of Steve Carell's Michael Scott. Though the show boasted great actors in its ranks, such as Ed Helms and John Krasinski, Carell was the star and without him there was a noticeable shift in quality.

So, when it came to the Christmas edition of season 8, the loss was felt all the more by Scott's absence, as this was the first Christmas episode without him.

That isn't to say it doesn't have its upsides. Jim and Dwight's competition to prank themselves in order to get the other in trouble is amusing, as is Erin's ability to knock back drinks and hit on her ex - Andy Bernard.

Robert California's time in the show was an obvious highlight of the stricken series, and his personality is once again on offer here to help Erin with her jealousy.

All in all, Christmas Wishes was a bit all over the place and it felt like all the storylines of the episode were secondary. No one moment stands out as a real comedic or visceral imprint as the other episodes on this list have.
