12. Frank Castle, A Hipster?
There's a bizarre running joke early in the series where Frank's unkempt appearance causes him to be referred to as a "hipster."
It all kicks off when he heads to a diner, and the waitress tells him, "We don't get many hipsters around here", to which he hilariously replies, "Yeah, well, you still don't, lady." That doesn't stop her calling him a hipster again moments later when Micro calls the diner's phone.
A few scenes later, Frank runs into Karen, who keeps the joke alive by telling him, "You look well. Rocking the whole, uh, hipster thing", and he replies, "Been flirting with the idea of going full man-bun."
The hipster gag comes up once more in the fourth episode, when Frank finally shaves his beard and pays Sarah a visit. He tells her, "People kept telling me I look like a hipster. And I really don't like hipsters, so..."
The joke is dropped after this point, but clearly The Punisher's writing staff have a bone to pick with the hipster crowd.
