6. Twist: Frank Killed Zubair (Episode 12, "Home")
The show's twelfth episode begins with the reveal that Frank himself was the masked man who pulled the trigger on hostage Ahmad Zubair during Operation Cerberus.
While eagle-eyed viewers would've been able to figure this out ahead of time by paying attention to prior flashbacks to the scene, and several symbolic dream sequences also hints at it, it was still fun to see Frank cop to his actions, especially as it seemed like Russo was initially going to be outed as the killer.
Dinah, who it is implied may have had a relationship with Zubair, is naturally deeply shocked at the revelation, and having Frank be the killer adds a welcome layer of further ambiguity to his actions. After all, The Punisher is far from a typical comic book hero, and his slaughter of an innocent man here totally cements that fact.
For those who have complained that Frank isn't likeable enough in this show, well, that's totally the point.
