Which ones don't get the credit they should?

Discussing the various qualities and strengths of Simpsons episode can be an immensely challenging, but also incredibly enjoyable task. Given that the show has become such a staple of western pop culture for so long, Simpsons fans understandably have very strong opinions about the show's best and worst episodes. Given the sheer volume of episodes however (well over 500 and counting), and among all the classics and the misfires, there are inevitably some that have been outstanding in quality, but don't seem to hold a cherished spot in the memories of fans. A few of these episodes are going to come from the more recent seasons - and this is deliberate. Holding the sentiment that the quality of the Simpsons has dropped off over the past ten or so years is not particularly controversial, but I do feel it is overstated. But there are some older episodes as well. These episodes aren€™t looked upon negatively as such by most people, but they inexplicably don€™t get the respect and admiration they should probably receive from audiences. A couple of these episodes are incredibly dear to me, and that will no doubt become quite obvious. New or old, this article will highlight these underrated gems, and hopefully give them the credit they deserve.
