The Simpsons: 10 Springfield Characters You Totally Forgot Existed

10. Handsome Pete

There have been some very strange characters in Springfield over the years, from grown men never out of character like Bumblebee Man and Duff Man, to inbred hillbillies, and even a talking monkey. One of the down right weirdest however, is Handsome Pete.

The character first appeared in 'Bart the Fink'. When Krusty faked his own death, Bart kept seeing him all over town, with his investigation leading him to the Springfield Harbour, and more specifically, The Sea Cap'n's Bait n' Barg'n B'n.

Bart blew up a Krusty balloon, but didn't inflate it all the way, leading Captain McAllister to believe he was asking about Handsome Pete. The small character then came out to play the concertina for nickels, with no explanation of who he was, or why he looked the way he did.

This wasn't even the only appearance of Pete in the show. When Homer ran away from donating a kidney to his dad, the character was seen outside Davey Jones' Hamper, and was also there in the movie when Russ Cargill dropped the dome on top of the entire town.
