The Walking Dead: 10 Characters Who Stuck Around Too Long

Everyone dies on The Walking Dead. Some just take a little longer to do so.

There have been some 252 deaths since The Walking Dead began back in 2010, earning the show a reputation for killing off anybody and everybody.

Whether you're an old man, a child, or even a Daryl - when your number is up, it's up. We'll always lament the loss of some of those who shuffled off this mortal coil too early: Scott Wilson's grandfatherly Hershel, Michael Rooker's Merle and his unfortunate appendage, and Alicia Witt's psychotic Paula the Savior, to name but a few.

So how do you quickly position yourself as one of those elusive The Walking Dead fan-favourites before you are just another bodybag? Basically, do the opposite of anyone on this list.

While some of the show's best characters have found themselves caught in the unfortunate cross-fire of the great ratings pursuit, there are those we wish had never made it beyond their first episode. Whiny school girls, psycho kids, or just plain dull - these Walking Dead characters all outstayed their welcome.

10. Enid

First appearance: Remember (S5E12)

Last appearance: Ongoing

Enid may have only been on the show for a brief time, but she is fast becoming Lizzie 2.0. Filling the hate-void left by the likes of Lori, Enid is public enemy No.1 in the Twitterverse, which is not a good place to be - those Walking Dead fans are a bloodthirsty lot.

A shame considering there were so many theories about Enid, all of which fell flatter than her character - was she a Savior, was she a secret wolf? Nope, she was just an angsty teen.

Sadly, it looks like Enid is taking over the role of Sophia in the comic books, and is fast heading towards a future as Mrs. Carl Grimes. Her role as the adopted daughter of Glenn and Maggie could come to a head if one of them meets their maker in Season 7, but how would Enid cope with Maggie's baby around?

Are we heading for another murdered child at the hands of Enid? Secretly, I hope so - give Enid something crazy to do, otherwise she is just another grumpy teen in an already pretty grim world.
