He’s also wily, has Houdini-level escape artist abilities and is a skilled fighter to boot – all qualities that could well see him survive to the end of the show – and as one of only three openly gay characters after the death of Eric, AMC would be well-advised to keep him around if they want to continue claiming The Walking Dead as one of television’s most diverse programmes.

Plus, he’s called Jesus. Can they really kill off a character called Jesus? Imagine the uproar from their god-fearing American demographic.
