2. Staying And Building A Community
Despite the horrors of Carls injury, it is in his care from the residents of Alexandria that Rick has a vital revelation: that community can work. Its a massive transformation for Rick, finally cementing his acceptance to stay put and make things work in Alexandria with the people they have.
From a TV standpoint it means a few things. Theres obviously going to be more character development for many of the other Alexandria denizens to help round out their environment. It also likely means that most of Season 6 will be set in the same place. Harkening back to the days in the prison, this could be a great thing, but we mustnt forget how that worked out when they stayed on Hershels farm.
But they are not locked behind their walls, and Alexandria is hardly the only colony of human survivors. Eventually, Ricks choice to stay rather than pack up and leave as they have before will be the reason why theyre so open to joining with a few others...
