Long before Zach comes onto the scene, Beth's boyfriend at the farm during Season 2 is Jimmy. He actually features in 10 episodes, but he's rarely remembered and goes unmentioned after his death. During the Season 2 finale, the zombie herd invades Hershel's farm. Zach drives the iconic RV to the barn in order to rescue Rick and Carl, but opening the door proved to be a fatal (and utterly stupid) mistake, as the walkers sunk their teeth into his leg. And that proved to be his death sentence.
