The Walking Dead: 5 Characters Who Should Die In Season 6

These characters need to go ASAP. But will they?

By Mark Chandley /

Right now we’re all experiencing that terrible summer Walking Dead drought and while Comic Con was able to wet our appetites with new trailers for The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead, premieres are still months away. However, it’s never too early to speculate about which of our survivors may bite the dust in the upcoming season. What else are we supposed to do?

The back half of season 5 introduced us to the peaceful yet blissfully ignorant inhabitants of Alexandria, the looming threat of the Wolves and the return of a fan favorite character. Oh, and an increasingly paranoid and unstable Rick. With the introduction of so many fresh faces on top of an already large ensemble cast, the universe dictates that some people must go.

Season Six is reported to follow closer to its comic book roots than ever before, so what should we expect? Surprises, surprises and more surprises of course! We’ve come to expect them from the show and this season will be no different, but we may see some things that people never expected in the way of character deaths.

These characters need to go ASAP, but will they?

Spoilers ahead (duh)...

5. Father Gabriel

Oh Gabe, good old Gabe! Father Gabriel, the priest who barricaded himself inside of his church at the start of the outbreak and left his flock to die. Father Gabriel, the man who hasn’t meaningfully contributed anything to the group since his rescue. Father Gabriel, the man who back-stabbed the people who saved his life. Father Gabriel, the man who seems to have an endless supply of priest robes.

Yeah, that guy. At this point this man is simply deadweight and it probably won’t go over well with Rick and crew once they find out he’s been gossiping about them. Watch out for Scarol Gabe!

Why He Should Die: Read above. Seriously, even if AMC writes some sort of redemption story in for him, it may be too late. Unlike Eugene, who is seemingly useless as well, Gabriel simply has no use other than starting drama between Rick’s group and the Alexandrians. He really is a coward through and through and there has been no reason to care for him. Also actor Seth Gilliam was recently arrested for a DUI, speeding and possession of marijuana.

That kind of attention can spell trouble for actors, he may have dug his own grave. Not such a coward in real life huh? Father Gabriel would be ashamed!
