The former leader of Alexandria, Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldhsuh) was an optimistic and often naive woman who wasn't truly fit for the new world.

With Alexandria overrun by a large horde of walkers, Deanna found herself bitten. She had a final stand against the walkers intruding on her home, but died in the process.

Later on, she was found reanimated and wandering the woods, where her son Spencer (Austin Nichols) put her down after several days trying to find her.
