Enid's backstory flashbacks were excellently done in one short sequence, but despite seeing her disemboweled parents sprawled out across the floor, there was still a more startling scene to come when it got to dinner time. The world watched in horror as Enid tucked into her tasty meal: raw tortoise. I suppose tortoises are the ultimate convenient snack in one sense. They come with a ready made shell carton for the refined diner, and Enid took full advantage as she learned to survive in the true wild. Unflinching, she tucks into the raw meat, prying bones and flesh away from the insides. It was a totally unpleasant scene, yet weirdly satisfying that she had landed some actual meat to enjoy.
