It may just seem like a minor aspect, but for a show which frequently jerks in different directions and particularly in such a frantic episode like this one, it's important to maintain some sort of fluid way for characters to intertwine and Episode 9 did it subtly, but masterfully. Small details like Rick shouting then cutting to Gabriel inside the church where you can still hear his booming voice were great. Denise and the wolf's journey fell into Carol's path, and the former fled into the shelter where Heath & Co. were taking refuge. Abraham and Sasha came to save the day for Glenn, who hopped into the truck straight after to help Daryl. They're all small details, but they're just a few examples of how the show pulled everyone together and unified them in the 'last stand' towards the end of the episode.
