9. Paula's Death

In hindsight, the sidestep episode following Carol and Maggie and their ordeal with the Saviours led by Paula was a great one. It seemed to halt the momentum the season was building, but as an episode it contained some great moments.

Paula herself could've been a great longer-term character in the show, though she was a more-than-worthy one-off character and her death was a seriously brutal affair.

She's thrown onto a spike, impaled next to a walker who can't believe his luck and begins to tuck into her face. She's screaming as her cheek is being ruined and the scream is chilling. It's a seriously dark moment, even by Walking Dead standards.
