"I think you know I'm not a bad guy." Paul Rovia, or Monroe as he is in the comics (changed to avoid confusion with Spencer), definitely isn't a bad guy. Sure, he may attack Rick and Daryl here, or Abraham and Michonne in the comics, but he's one of the last inherently decent human beings left alive. His nickname of Jesus may come in part from his appearance, which is fairly obvious, but it's also because of his character. He tends to put the needs of the group before his own, he'll speak up for what he believes is right, and is a very rational and fair person, and actually quite a serious one, despite appearing as comedic here. It's too early to tell if he'll completely be like that on the show, but based on the way he approaches Rick to talk, doesn't kill them when he could have, and saves Daryl by shooting the walker, it seems pretty likely he'll be rather similar, which is definitely a good thing. You've got people with pretty extreme views on the way things need to be done, with Morgan at one end and Carol at the other; Paul can be somewhere in the middle, doing what is right.
