The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale: 13 Things Episode 16 Got Horribly Wrong

13. 64 Minutes

The Walking Dead simply can't produce epic long episodes. There's a little feeling of dread whenever the preview booms about a 90-minute special, but thankfully that's including advert breaks. 64 minutes was the run-time of the finale, about 20 minutes too long.

It's only worth producing a longer episode if you have a lot to cram in. This episode didn't have that problem whatsoever. A brief goodbye to Alexandria and a detour across to check up on Morgan and Carol were the only storylines we saw apart from the big one.

It just felt like the camera lingered too long at every turn, as if it were trying to fill the time. The Negan speech scene was incredible, but (dare I say it?) while Jeffrey Dean Morgan turned in a great performance, there were even times when he looked like he was trying to drag it out a little longer than necessary.
