3. The Library Man

There weren't many sub-plots in the finale as it revolved greatly around Negan's arrival and the dire mess Rick's group had delved into, but one of the more subtle references was to the backstory of the Saviours' hostage from the library.

The episode follows Carol and Morgan's separate story to a town where the library is prominently positioned, along with the Saviours' victims who were clearly left to turn into undead walkers, and one standout feature that confirms its the same settlement.

The Saviours describe how they 'strung up' one of the men who fired at them first, and sure enough, Morgan is seen cutting a walker down from a metal structure. It wasn't hugely important, but it added weight to the world, and the Saviours' reputations.
