Season 6 of AMC's walker-centric series had fans - well, those fans who constantly want next week's episode yesterday, at least - in uproar as it gave its audience a cliffhanger that they'd have to wait months for any sort of resolution to. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan had arrived, and the big question was just who he'd killed during the closing moments of the season finale.

The wait is over, and now we have our answer. Our bloody, brutal answer.

Just in case for any reason whatsoever you're reading this without having seen the episode, the details of Negan's carnage won't be mentioned in detail during this introduction. What happened, though, was some of the most shocking scenes that have been seen on TV in a long time. Even more than just shocking, however, the events of The Day Will Come When You Won't Be was the sort of stark, clinical, unpleasantly memorable TV that will stick with its audience long after they've finished the episode.

In a nutshell, this episode was one that centred on the unravelling of Rick Grimes' iron will as Negan made his mark in glorious, gory fashion. It wasn't pretty, but it was certainly a shocking ride as The Walking Dead returned with a bang and plenty of bloodshed.
