The Walking Dead Season 7: 3 Things 'Sing Me A Song' Got Right (And 4 It Got Wrong)
The Walking Dead finally gets moving in the penultimate episode, but it's still a little slow.
With the penultimate episode of Season 7A, The Walking Dead needed to start picking up the pace. The previous few weeks have been incredible sluggish, moving from location to location and wasting a lot of time in doing so.
Sing Me A Song is an improvement in that regard. It doesn't avoid all the issues that are plaguing The Walking Dead's seventh season, but it's a better than an episode focused entirely on Tara. Rather than spending its entirety in a single location, it actually moves around a bit, showing a number of different subplots.
The central story is that of Negan and Carl, with the latter's infiltration of the Sanctuary and - surprise - subsequent capture. Removed from there, we get - for better and worse - segments on Michonne, Father Gabriel and Spencer, Rosita and Eugene, and Rick and Aaron.
It's still not firing on all cylinders, meaning the mid-season finale has a lot to do, but it was a bit of an upgrade on previous weeks.
