The Walking Dead Season 7: Ranking The Probability Of 17 Major Character Deaths

A war with Negan is coming, which means a lot of characters may have to die.

The first half of The Walking Dead's seventh season saw our heroes getting beat down over and over again.

It was all about Rick and co being broken by Negan and the Saviours, while also expanding the scope of the world with numerous new communities introduced.

It didn't make for compelling TV - indeed, it's one of the show's weakest runs, and ratings started to drop - but The Walking Dead loves to trade on the twin pillars of hope and despair.

The latter's dominated Season 7 so far, but the former is promised going forwards. Rick has snapped out of his funk, Daryl's back with the team, and they're going to take on Negan.

That means we're building towards a war, which in turns means casualties. The show hasn't shied away from death thus far, and it's not going to start now. Rick is the only character who is 100% safe (and thus not on the list), but here's a look at every other major (i.e. considered 'starring' on the cast list) character, and their chances of dying in the second half of Season 7.

17. Carl

After Rick, the next safest character on the show is his son, Carl.

That's not inherently a good thing because, while Carl is no longer the stroppy, annoying little kid he used to be, he is still both stroppy and annoying at times, and Chandler Riggs is one of the weakest members of the core cast.

It's no use complaining though, 'cause Carl's going nowhere. He's Rick's son, a big motivator behind him even making it this far, and will be important to the plot going forwards. Not just in the fight against Negan, but long afterwards as well. Unless there's a MAJOR twist, Carl will be surviving Season 7, and probably Seasons 8, 9, and however many this show goes on for.

Chance Of Dying: 1/10
