The Walking Dead Series 2 Mid-Season Premiere Poster

Settle down fellow zombie lovers, AMC have revealed the first teaser poster for the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, which returns to our screens next month. Unless you've been living under a rock then you'll recall the critically acclaimed horror drama about a small group of people thrown together following a zombie apocalypse and their constant struggle to survive and to find reason behind the madness. Based on the Robert Kirkman comic of the same name, The Walking Dead's highly anticipated second series took a brief hiatus recently leaving it's many fans thirsty for more. So what can we expect when the show returns on February 12th? Well so far very little has been written about where the series is headed and spoilers have thankfully been minimal, thus creating a literal online frenzy of 'what if' scenarios amongst the fans - in particular whether the group will find the prison, the location where the original source material took such a dramatic and sinister turn. Despite all this the only thing we have right now is a poster. Does this image represent the final moments of the previous episode before the show went on hiatus or is it indicative of a more action packed second half? Plenty of viewers missed the point of the show all together and complained about the meandering approach it took after the first season, so perhaps the writers have taken note and will give Rick et al plenty to shoot at this time around. Or maybe he's pointing the gun at someone else in the group? There's no love lost between Rick and Shane, and with a baby on the way things could get very heated very quickly between the two ex-Cops. Whichever direction the writers decide to take it one thing remains certain, The Walking Dead season 2 part 2 will continue to be some of the most gripping and entertaining television in your schedule. The series returns to AMC on the 12th February, and FX in the UK shortly thereafter.
