2. Up: Pollyanna MacIntosh's Shattering Performance
Of course, Jadis's swan song wouldn't be possible without her actress, Pollyanna MacIntosh, part of the franchise for many years and finally given the chance to show what she's capable of.
Capturing the determined desire to position herself in a place of power, MacIntosh's performance in "Become" is first and foremost a riveting villainous turn, full of cold monologues and colder stares But like the episode itself, she refuses to let Jadis become another one-note villain for the franchise.
A woman of shifting identities and allegiances, Jadis has lived many lives, and saved herself from certain doom time and time again with great cunning, and though the CRM seems to have beaten her down past the point of no return, MacIntosh finds resounding shades of humanity and innocence in Jadis's embattled personas.
She's both Jadis and Anne, the loyal survivor she once was with Gabriel, and MacIntosh finds perfect balance between her villainous side and the person she could have been, right until her haunting and redemptive final moments. Speaking of which...
