The X-Files: 10 Original Series Characters Who Should Return

From former allies to lingering foes, who else could make a comeback in Season 11 and beyond?

We're now a little over a week since The X-Files concluded its long-awaited tenth season. In only six episodes, it managed to hit some wonderful highs and disappointing lows, but the thrill of seeing Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder back on the small screen was palpable all the way through. Throughout its brief run, the newest season also featured the return of original X-Files characters Walter Skinner, the evil Cigarette Smoking Man, Monica Reyes, and - all too fleetingly - the lovable Lone Gunmen. With the series' future pretty bright once more and new episodes seemingly a lock somewhere down the line, it's hard not to look back at the original nine seasons of the series and wonder who else could return, from some of the duo's fellow FBI agents to friends and foes alike whose fates are still left dangling since we last saw them. With the wait looming ahead of us until we can catch up with Mulder and Scully again, let's take a spoiler-filled look back now to dig up some of the faces who should resurface to join them in future episodes, with the caveat that deceased characters (sorry, Krycek fans) and various monsters of the week still roaming about (sorry, Ma Peacock) will be excluded in order to focus on recurring characters who were still alive by the end of the original series' run.
