The final episode of The X-Files revival (or season ten, if you prefer) has come to pass. The shortened, six episode season seemed to fly by, for obvious reasons, and with the tally of monster of the week to mythology episodes being four to two, really, not a lot of progress was made in the overall storyline between the first and final outings of the year. My Struggle Part 2 sought to change that - but it was no easy task. As far as the episode itself was concerned, it picked up where the season opener, My Struggle, left off. Tales of alien colonization were mostly, at least for now, dropped in favour of a world domination plot where men within the government schemed to use alien technology to take over America, and then the globe. Behind it all? The nefarious Smoking Man, still alive though far from well and scheming as always. The added twist? His plan to unleash a global plague. Set against him? Why Special Agents Mulder and Scully, of course, as well as returning rookie agents Miller and Einstein (Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose), with Miller on the hunt for an AWOL Mulder, and Einstein questioning Scully's scientific method while they frantically sought out a cure for the Cancer Man's plague. When all was said and done, what did we learn?
